BioMag® Dextran-coated Charcoal

The BioMag® Dextran-coated Charcoal collection features super-paramagnetic particles coated with activated carbon and a dextran layer, supplied as a 5 mg/mL aqueous suspension. These particles facilitate rapid magnetic separation of unbound small-molecule analytes (such as free radiolabelled or fluorescent compounds) from antibody-bound targets in competitive immunoassays. The dextran coating acts as a size-exclusion gate, allowing small molecules to enter the charcoal matrix while excluding larger antibody-bound complexes, thereby simplifying cleanup workflows and improving assay reproducibility.
