Hollow Particles
Polysciences’ Hollow Particles collection features polymeric microspheres engineered with a thin (~0.10 µm) shell of styrene/acrylic copolymer surrounding a water-filled void, providing an effective density close to 1.0 g/cm³. These hollow particles—such as the Polybead® Hollow Microspheres (0.55 µm diameter) — support applications including lightweight filler in coatings, buoyant calibration beads in fluidics, and assay platforms where reduced density or high buoyancy is advantageous.
