Maleimide PEGs
Polysciences’ Maleimide PEGs collection features polyethylene glycol (PEG) derivatives that terminate in a maleimide functional group (–C=CH–NH–C(O)–) for selective reaction with thiol (-SH) groups, enabling stable thioether bond formation. Variants include methoxy-PEG-maleimide (mPEG-Mal) and hetero/bi-functional PEGs like Mal-PEG-NHS, Mal-PEG-COOH and Mal-PEG-biotin, available across a range of molecular weights (e.g., ~3,000 Da to 20,000 Da). These linkers support applications in protein/antibody conjugation, nanoparticle surface modification, hydrogel cross-linking, biomaterial coatings and targeted delivery systems.
