Acrylic cement, MC-Bond

MC-Bond Acrylic Solvent Cement is the solvent welding solution of choice of plastics fabricators since the eighties and nineties. It has been used very successfully in many demanding applications including construction of aquariums, display cases, furniture and art objects. MC-Bond is used to provide strong, clear, bubble-free, perpendicular butt joints with several plastic sheet materials. MC-Bond forms strong bonds after short contact time with acrylic, PETG, or polycarbonate sheet.

Advantages
MC-Bond offers the following advantages over methylene chloride:
• Provides a stronger bond than methylene chloride
• Performs uniformly over a wide range of temperature/humidity conditions
• Shows little tendency to craze sheet at the joint
• Shows little or no blushing at the joint interface
• Fast tack time moderated to prevent bubbles
• Easily drawn by capillary action to completely wet out joints as wide as 1/2 inch
