Methoxy PEG maleimide, Mp 2000

Methoxy PEG Maleimide (mPEG-Mal) contains a maleimide (-C₄H₂O₂) reactive group, which selectively reacts with thiol (-SH) groups via Michael addition reactions to form stable thioether linkages. This functionality is particularly useful in protein conjugation, nanoparticle functionalization, and hydrogel crosslinking while maintaining PEG’s hydrophilic, non-immunogenic properties.
