Batson's #17 Red pigment is a red colorant formulated for use with the Batson's #17 Anatomical Corrosion Kit in anatomical corrosion casting. The pigment is mixed with the monomer base to provide visual contrast in polymer casts prepared from injected anatomical specimens.

Red and blue pigments can be used to distinguish vascular structures within corrosion casts, including arterial and venous systems. After the injected resin has cured, surrounding tissue can be removed by maceration to expose the colored cast for anatomical examination.
