Product Description
Iodoacetamide PEG Azide is a reactive PEG derivative with an iodoacetamide (-C(O)NHI) moiety and an azide (-N₃) functional group. The iodoacetamide selectively reacts with thiols to form stable thioether bonds, while the azide enables click chemistry via copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) or strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC).
Applications:
Hydrogel Synthesis: Used in thiol-ene click chemistry to form bioinspired hydrogels.
Site-Specific Protein Labeling: Facilitates thiol-based modifications for protein tracking.
Nanomaterial Functionalization: Enables azide-alkyne click reactions on polymeric and inorganic nanoparticles.
Surface Engineering: Used for PEGylation of biomaterials to enhance stability and biocompatibility.
