Product Description
Poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate (PEGMEMA) is a PEG-based monomer containing a terminal methacrylate (-C(CH₃)=CH₂) group for polymerization. The methacrylate functionality enables copolymerization with other acrylic or vinyl monomers, while the PEG chain imparts hydrophilicity, flexibility, and protein resistance. PEGMEMA is widely used in biomedical coatings, responsive polymers, and hydrogel formulations.
Applications:
Hydrogels & Polymer Networks: Enables formation of soft, biocompatible hydrogels with controlled water uptake and mechanical properties.
Bioconjugation: Introduces PEG functionality into biomaterials to improve solubility and reduce nonspecific interactions.
Surface Coatings: Provides antifouling and lubricious coatings for medical and industrial applications.
