Poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate/methacrylic acid) 90:10

This copolymer integrates the hydrophilic nature of PHEMA with the ion-exchange capability of methacrylic acid, enhancing adhesion, biocompatibility, and pH responsiveness. It is useful in biomedical and controlled-release applications. PHEMA is more readily water-soluble than poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) in the presence of alkali, aqueous, 90% methanol.
