Product Description

Polycaprolactam, commonly known as Nylon-6, is a semi-crystalline polymer with high mechanical strength, abrasion resistance, and chemical stability. It is synthesized via the ring-opening polymerization of caprolactam, forming a polyamide backbone with hydrogen bonding that contributes to its toughness and thermal stability (melting point ~220°C).

Applications:

Engineering Plastics: Used in gears, bearings, and automotive components.
Textiles & Fibers: Forms durable synthetic fibers in clothing, carpets, and industrial fabrics.
Packaging Films: Provides high gas barrier properties for food and pharmaceutical packaging.
