Poly(glycolic acid) (PGA) is a biodegradable polyester with high crystallinity, excellent mechanical properties, and hydrolytic degradability. The intrinsic viscosity (i.v.) range of 1.0-2.0 suggests moderate to high molecular weight, influencing degradation rates and mechanical strength.
Decomposes in 6 months at 37° at pH 9.0.
