Trimethylene carbonate (TMC) is a cyclic carbonate monomer used in the synthesis of biodegradable polycarbonates and copolymers. It undergoes ring-opening polymerization to form poly(trimethylene carbonate) (PTMC), a soft, bioresorbable polymer with excellent biocompatibility.
