Xylene is crucial in deparaffinization of tissue sections during slide preparation, cleaning of laboratory glassware, and solvent applications. Its ability to dissolve paraffin and other waxes makes it indispensable in the embedding process.
It is widely used as a clearing agent in tissue processing, facilitating the removal of alcohol from tissue specimens. This prepares samples for embedding in paraffin or other embedding media.
